KITING THE HURRICANE
2005  was  the  worst hurricane  season  in history
On the North Atlantic, Dom Mee fought a harrowing struggle to survive on a 14-foot kite boat while Katrina and 6 other hurricanes roared toward him. He capsized a dozen times. Near death, he recorded a farewell video to his family, before he was flung into  the sea, where he waited 30 hours for rescue.

A year later, his boat, the Little Murka, washed up in Ireland with his chilling farewell video still on board.

Dom is already an icon among adventurers and his story has only just begun. A former, Royal Marine commando with tours in Belfast and Iraq, Dom Mee has rowed across the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and raced maxi-yachts in the Sydney-Hobart and Antigua races.

On the Arctic Quest expedition, he was attacked by a Musk Ox and trapped on a ledge by polar bears. He led the National Geographic expedition to find a lost ship from 1832 Ross Expedition in the Arctic.

Today Dom owns Protection Vessels International, the largest private security fleet in the world. Manned by a crack team of 200 ex-Special Forces Commandos, defending the coast of Somalia from armed pirates.
