To raise new questions, new possibilities, to regard old problems from a new angle, marks the real advances in science. ~ ALBERT EINSTEIN
After 40 years of research at the Harris Orthopedic Lab at Massachusetts General, the work of pioneering surgeon and intrepid clinical researcher Dr. William H. Harris paid off with the complete eradication of a fatal disease that had never been seen before.
Dr. Harris discovered that the disease had been inadvertently created by the surgeons themselves by implanting hip and knee replacement devices, then he found a way to resolve this catastrophic problem.
For decades this mysterious disease cost thousands of people their lives and seriously disrupted millions more. Today more than six million successful hip implants have been safely completed.
